Completing your 26-27 FAFSA

Student and the parent must both create their own individual account.  Go to studentaid.gov and next to the login button, you will see create account.  During this process you are also setting up student/parents user id's and password to login to the FAFSA.   Once these have been created it takes 24-72 to activate. These must activate before it will allow you to complete your FAFSA.  

After the account has activated, the student will login and do their portion of the FAFSA and then send an invite to the parent to their part of the FAFSA.   The FAFSA has been greatly simplified and very easy, you are pretty much just answering questions.   

• Unless you are 24, married or someone other than your parents have legal guardianship of you, you must include your parent on the FAFSA. 
• The 26-27 uses your 2024 Federal Taxes.
• StudentAid.gov is the website. 
• If you have a sibling in college too, make sure you say 2 in college on your FAFSA.
